So, in case ya'll didn't know, I broke my computer somehow.
And now they're charging me $400 for it, since it's not covered by warranty.
Great...just fuckin' great.
Any help on a) how to replace a laptop screen, or b) anything you can think of otherwise would be greatly appreciated...I don't wanna spend $400 on a manufacturing fault.

Lack of Art Things...D:
Hey, all! Long time no journal!
I just wanted to let y'all know I'm still around, lurking in the shadows. Mostly, I wanted to give an explanation as to why I've been so absent as of late.
Long story short, it's my last year of my Ph.D program, and I'm pushing really hard to get publications and eventually a thesis out the door before next August. I will doodle a silly thing or two every few weeks, but no major projects like I had made before. I hope to rectify this soon-ish, but there may be a chance I w

If it's just the screen that's bad, depending on the make and model, it may be possible to get a replacement screen off eBay and change it yourself for less than $100.
I've done it several times before. It's not the easiest thing to do, as you (usually) have to deal with a lot of small screws and delicate cables.
Do a Google search for your model of laptop and "replace screen", and see if you can find a tutorial/guide/video on replacing it. Then decide for yourself if it's something you'd feel comfortable fixing on your own or not.
